    We are currently seeking a Senior Tax Specialist who reports to the US Tax Manager and is part of our Finance organization.  The successful candidate will be passionate about tax laws, compliance and reporting. In addition, we are seeking a professional with hands-on experience collaborating with internal teams and external tax agencies/advisories regarding complex tax issues impacting our business.

     

    Responsibilities: 

    • Independently prepares and files all state income and franchise tax returns, including work papers for NOVA U.S. companies
    • Independently prepares and files U.S. Federal consolidated tax return
    • Analyzes accounts, prepares supporting spreadsheets/tax work papers
    • Prepares current year income tax provision
    • Prepares Federal and state tax return extensions
    • Analyzes and prepares financial data for tax estimated Quarterly installment payments for NOVA U.S. companies
    • Manages state income and franchise tax audits
    • Assists in transfer pricing analysis and documentation
    • Other projects as assigned

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree and CPA designation required; or Master’s degree (if no CPA).
    • 8+ years’ experience with tax accounting, and federal tax compliance.
    • Broad understanding of US federal income tax rules and US GAAP/IRFS Financial Reporting.
    • Hands on experience with Federal, state income and franchise tax compliance
    • Management experience a plus (leading, coaching and project management preferred)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, which will be used internally within these business units, supply chain, finance, IT and shared service support and will be used externally with revenue authorities and outside advisors to establish and maintain productive working relationships.
    • Strong people management skills, this position requires an individual who is self-motivated and who takes ownership of assigned processes and projects.
    • Team player, ability to thrive in team oriented workplace that encourages active collaboration and cooperation to achieve continuous improvement and high performance.
    • Excellent quantitative skills, proficiency with Excel, Insource, SAP and BPC consolidation (or similar) software preferred.
