We are currently seeking a Responsible Care Training Support resource to add to our growing team.


The Responsible Care (RC) Training Support role will provide training technical support as well as elearning course authoring support using NOVA’s company systems (SAP SuccessFactors) and will report to the RC Training Coordinator.


The RC team supports NOVA’s vision by delivering high quality, RC solutions to meet our business, operating and stakeholder needs. We provide services that enable our organization to develop and implement RC processes. We work with teams across NOVA to effectively manage change with a goal to continuously improve our performance.




  • Complete training related work in the SAP training module including course creation, profiles, development plans, and troubleshooting issues as well as reporting on mandatory training (needs, trends and gaps);
  • Act as a company focal point for learning management system and as a resource to other RC training coordinators in the company;
  • Act as a point of contact and support for external vendors delivering or developing training for NOVA;Develop elearning courses using appropriate learning strategies, the SAP authoring tool (and other multi-media tools as appropriate) and content provided by subject matter experts under the direction of the RC Training Coordinator
  • Support the RC Training Coordinator in the creation and maintenance of supplementary documentation including: training processes, matrices and procedures; handouts, fact sheets, memory joggers; help documentation or manuals
  • Assist the RC Training Coordinator in developing annual training strategies and provide recommendations on possible solutions found in training systems
  • Work in a team environment and independently with limited supervision all while developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.



This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field, with up to 3 years of practical experience or a 2 year technical school diploma with typically 2 - 3 years of related practical experience.


Preference will be given to candidates with the following experience, skills and abilities:

  • Expert computer skills (Office, SAP, SharePoint, SuccessFactors) and the ability to become proficient with new programs is required;
  • Demonstrated skills in elearning authoring/multi-media tools and creating innovative, engaging elearning appropriate for adults in the workplace;
  • Demonstrated skills as a self-starter and the ability to independently prioritize and manage work;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the RC team and other NOVA Chemicals internal and external stakeholders;
  • Ability to network with other administrative staff across the company to identify synergies around meetings, travel, and other expectations of RC team;
  • Ability to understand processes, identify process improvements and work through appropriate change management steps to ensure continuous improvement.
