The Project Control / Portfolio Specialist provides Cost Reporting, Cost Control, Planning/Scheduling and Portfolio processes, systems and resources for the Geismar plant capital project portfolio of sustaining projects. The key deliverables extend into three areas:
Project Cost and Schedule
Collaborate with Project Managers, Project Team members & Leadership to ensure prescribed project controls and reporting deliverables are maintained to meet the project and department needs, including:
Management of new project ideas, active and closed projects for the site, this would include preparing for project governance steps, providing QA feedback to PM’s, reporting against the site / PM portfolios. Owner of SharePoint sites and other associated data.
Analyze project / portfolio data and work with individual contributors, project teams, leadership, and Decision Boards to understand schedule and resource constraints, and lead making scheduling and resourcing decisions. Specifically:
System and Business Process Improvements
The successful candidate will have an Engineering Degree with five or more years related project experience and the ability to attain the Certified Cost Engineer designation (AACE). Other combinations of experience and education that will be considered include an Engineering Technology Diploma with 10+ years of project experience demonstrating increasing responsibility and certification as a Certified Cost Professional (AACE) or a Financial Degree with 5+ years related project experience and certification with AACE.
