Our Technology center at NOVA Chemicals is seeking qualified candidates for the Mechanical Engineer Analytics position.
This position is with the Fluid Dynamics team at the NOVA Chemicals Research & Technology Centre in Calgary, Alberta.
As a member of this team you will provide research support to NOVA Chemicals Olefins and Polyolefins businesses as well as TransCanada Pipeline Ltd. through an ongoing research program.
This is a challenging position, which requires a strong knowledge of both fundamental Mechanical Engineering (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer) and Mathematic principles (probability and statistics, computational sciences) and skills in analytical and simulation methods to carry out research projects in related areas.
Typical tasks may include but are not limited to:
Prepare internal technical reports and external papers for conferences and journal publications.
The successful candidate will have a PhD (or MSc with >5 years of related experience) in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Science or equivalent with a strong academic background in mathematics or equivalent. In Canada, registered Engineer-In-Training (EIT) with relevant provincial association is highly desirable.
