Our Manufacturing East facilities are seeking recent chemical engineering graduates who are eager to learn and contribute to our business success.
The position provides the opportunity for a new graduate to participate in our Technical Development Program that allows chemical engineers to rotate through some of the following roles early in their career with NOVA. Rotating through a number of these areas allows the engineer to develop technical breadth and exposure to various plant operations that greatly helps with selecting an area of specialization for their career.
Process Design Engineering: The design engineer is accountable for process design for new facilities or modifications and ensures compliance with applicable NOVA and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include conducting feasibility studies, equipment sizing and specification, development of heat and material balances, safety and hazard reviews, process specification, problem solving and optimization.
Operations/Contact Engineering: The contact engineer is assigned to an operations area and works closely with the Operations and Reliability teams on a daily basis to provide technical and troubleshooting support. Responsibilities include providing technical recommendations to improve and optimize plant operation, maintain compliance with Responsible Care Standards and lead and/or assist in incident investigations.
Process Safety Engineering: As a member of the regional process safety team the Process Safety Engineer will take the lead on qualitative and quantitative risk analysis for a variety of risk studies and project risk assessments. This person also participates in the annual facility Hazard Assessment program (PHA) and various Process Safety Management policies, metrics, and management systems to enhance site performance.
Environmental Engineering: The environmental engineer supports the manufacturing sites with collection, analysis and trending associated with Environmental Programs. This position requires an understanding of monitoring program fundamentals, including field sampling methods, laboratory analytical techniques, and electronic data management along with statistical analysis tools to assimilate large quantities of data into clear and concise reports.
